Central Connecticut freshman Makenna Lommori was named Molten/Northeast Conference Rookie of the week on Monday afternoon. Lommori helped the Blue Devils to a split over two matches at Saint Francis (PA) and Robert Morris last week.
Lommorri contributed 94 assists over two matches last week. In addition, she contributed 11 digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces. She averaged 11.75 assists per set, 1.38 digs per set and .38 blocks per set. Lommori had 44 assists in the victory over Saint Francis (PA) and then followed it with 50 assists in the loss to Robert Morris. Lommori had five kills in the Red Flash match and totaled six kills for the week.
This is Lommori's seventh NEC Rookie of the Week award this season. She has also earned defensive player of the week honors from the conference twice this season.
Lommori and the Blue Devils will return to action this Saturday at Detrick Gym. CCSU will host LIU Brooklyn for a 1 p.m. match.
