Head coach Linda Sagnelli has announced the 2013 schedule for the Central Connecticut volleyball program.  The Blue Devils will play a 28 match regular season, which includes 14 Northeast Conference contests and 10 home matches at Detrick Gym. The first serve of the season will come on August 30, with day one of the Colgate Classic.

Full 2013 Schedule

The Colgate Classic (Aug. 30-31) is the first of four tournaments that the Blue Devils will participate in to open the season.  Following Colgate, Sagnelli will take her squad to California for the Sacramento State Tournament (Sept. 6-7) and then to New Hampshire for the Dartmouth Big Green Invite (Sept. 13-14).

On September 20 and 21, the Blue Devils will host Hartford, NJIT and Fordham for the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational.  The two-day event will feature six matches with each participating team playing three times.

The Blue Devils will play their final non-conference match of the season at Holy Cross on September 25.

Once again, the NEC will play a full round robin regular season in 2013 with all members meeting at home and on the road.  For CCSU, NEC play begins with a trip to St. Francis Brooklyn on September 28, and the following day the Blue Devils visit LIU Brooklyn for a rematch of the 2012 conference championship.

Conference play returns to New Britain the following weekend with Fairleigh Dickinson visiting on Saturday (Oct. 5) and Sacred Heart on Sunday (Oct. 6).  CCSU will also host Robert Morris (Oct. 12), Saint Francis U (Oct. 13), Bryant (Nov. 2), LIU Brooklyn (Nov. 16) and St. Francis Brooklyn (Nov. 17) at Detrick Gym during the regular season.

The Blue Devils will also visit Bryant (Oct. 19), Saint Francis U (Oct. 26), Robert Morris (Oct. 27), Sacred Heart (Nov. 9) and FDU (Nov. 10) in conference games.

The 2013 NEC Volleyball Championships will be held November 23-24 on the court of the tournaments #1 seed.  The event will feature the top-four regular season teams in a two-day single elimination format with the winner claiming the NEC's automatic bid to the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.

The Blue Devils (18-13) made their 10th consecutive NEC Tournament appearance in 2012.  CCSU advanced to the championship match with a semifinal victory over Robert Morris, but the Blue Devils fell to LIU Brooklyn in an exciting four-set final match.

All CCSU home volleyball matches will be played at Detrick Gym and admission is free.  Fans that cannot attend the matches can follow the action live on NECFrontrow.com, the NEC's free video streaming website.
