Central Connecticut volleyball sophomore Makenna Lommori and freshman Brooke Schwab were named to the Colgate Invitational All-Tournament Team. Lommori and Schwab both had a strong opening weekend for the Blue Devils.
Over the three matches, Lommori totaled 86 assists, 17 digs, 14 kills and 4.0 blocks with a .379 hitting percentage and just six errors of any kind. For the tournament she averaged 8.6 assists, 1.70 kills and 1.40 digs per set. Her per match averages of 28.7 assists, 5.7 digs, 4.7 kills and 1.3 blocks were also strong.
Lommori's match-high for assists this weekend was 34 against Binghmaton. She also posted 7 kills in that contest and hit .636. Her best overall match may have been against Colgate when she posted 23 assists, 12 digs and six kills.
Schwab had a strong first weekend of collegiate volleyball seeing action in all 10 sets for CCSU over the weekend. She posted 10 total blocks, including three solo blocks, to go along with a .429 hitting percentage.
In CCSU's win on Saturday, she had her best match with nine kills, on 12 attacks, with one error, which works out to a .667 mark. She also posted 7.0 blocks in the match with two solo and five assists.
Schwab averaged 2.10 kills and 1.0 blocks per set. She also posted an average of 7.0 kills and 3.3 blocks per match.
Lommori, Schwab and the Blue Devils return to action on Friday at the Sacramento State Invitational. In addition to CCSU and Sacramento State, Cal Poly and San Jose State will also play in the tournament.
