Central Connecticut women's cross country and track and field head coach Brenda Webb announced the addition of Tessa Donoghue to her coaching staff for the 2008-09 season. Donoghue comes to CCSU following a two-year stint at Connecticut College.
Donoghue, who graduated from Westfield State College, served as an assistant at Connecticut College from August 2006 through June 2008. She coached jumpers, was a co-coach for sprinters and hurdlers, and assisted with cross country practices. Prior to working at Connecticut College, Donoghue was an assistant track and field/cross country at Manchester College in Indiana. She coached sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers at Manchester.
A six-time All-American in long jump and triple jump at Westfield State, Donoghue graduated with a liberal arts degree in 2005. She set school records in the long jump and triple jump and was a 2005 NCAA Division III Track and Field nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year. Donoghue began her collegiate career at Wheaton College in 2001. She was an eight-time All-American at Wheaton and won the 2002 NCAA Division III Outdoor Long Jump title. Donoghue also ran on three National Championship 4x400 meter relay teams.
Donoghue holds a USATF Level I Coaching Certification.
