Katherine Bossardet led the Central Connecticut State University women's cross country team at this year's NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. The senior placed 117th, recording a time of 24:43 on the six kilometer course at Boston's Franklin Park.
CCSU recorded a score of 855, finishing one place behind Rhode Island (784) and just ahead of Fairfield (900). Syracuse won the 2009 championship, recording a score of 59. The Orange put five runners in the top 22 overall, edging out runner-up Providence, who tallied 70 points on the day. Katie Hursey of Syracuse was the top overall individual finisher, crossing the line in 21:57.
Senior Alyssa Cole was the second Blue Devil to cross the line on Saturday, as she placed 127th in a time of 24:50. Junior Nicole Coiteux (185th; 25:54), sophomore Amanda Asaro (210th; 26:31) and senior Kim Savino (216th; 26:57) rounded out the scorers for CCSU.
