Aaron Mershman

Bio

Aaron Mershman joined the Central Connecticut State football coaching staff in May 2025. He will coach the Blue Devils offensive line.

Mershman brings a decades worth of collegiate coaching expereince with him to New Britain, including a head coaching stint at Defiance College in 2017.

A graduate of Ball State University, Mershman was a two-year letterwinner with the Cardinals and an All-MAC Academic honoree.

AT CCSU

• Coached the offensive line during the 2025 NEC Championship team
• The Blue Devils had a 1,000 yard rusher (Elijah Howard) during that 2025 campaign

BEFORE CCSU

The College of New Jersey (2022-2024)

• Offensive coordinator for TCNJ, who finished 2024 19th in Division III in yards per completion and coached three players into the top-six nationally in four offensive categories
• Ranks 24th in the nation in 2024 in total offense at 447.7 yards per game and averaged 32.1 points per game

Misericordia University (2018-2021)

• Served as offensive coordinator and strength & conditioning coordinator
• Named interim head coach in summer of 2021
• Promoted to offensive coordinator in 2020, after being named offensive line coach in 2018

Defiance College (2015-2018)

• Promoted to head coach in July 2017, after serving as offensive coordinator in 2016 and offensive line coach in 2015

Ball State (2014-15)

• Served as offensive graduate assistant

Bowling Green State University (2013-14)

• Defensive graduate assistant under Mike Elko

Lindsey Wilson (2013)

• Began his coaching career as a football intern, and tights end coach
