Niman Earns Collegiate Baseball All-America Recognition

Dominic Niman of the Central Connecticut baseball team was named a Second Team All-American by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper it was announced on Thursday. Niman becomes the third Blue Devil pitcher in as many years recognized with All-America honors by the publication.

Baseball Advances to NEC Championship with 4-1 Win Over Sacred Heart

The top-seeded Central Connecticut baseball team eliminated fourth-seeded Sacred Heart on Saturday with a 4-1 win in the semifinals of the Northeast Conference Tournament in Wappingers Falls, NY. The Blue Devils will move on to play Wagner in the championship game on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

The Central Connecticut baseball team picked up a 5-3 non-conference win over Hartford on Tuesday in New Britain, CT. The CCSU bullpen tossed six shutout innings and Mike Torniero had a pair of doubles, including the go-ahead hit in the sixth inning to lead the way.

The Central Connecticut baseball team won a matchup of the top two teams in the Northeast Conference, winning 4-2 against FDU on Friday in the series opener in New Britain, CT.  Dominic Niman allowed one run over seven innings, and a three-run sixth inning for the Blue Devils proved to be the difference.

The Central Connecticut baseball team split a Northeast Conference doubleheader at Wagner on Friday in Staten Island, NY.  The Blue Devils won the first game, 21-8, with Ramon Jimenez collecting six hits and 11 RBIs in the win. The Seahawks handed CCSU its first NEC loss with a 9-3 decision in game two.

Baseball Sweeps Doubleheader From Norfolk State on Friday

The Central Connecticut baseball team swept Norfolk State in a doubleheader to open a three-game Northeast Conference series on Friday at CCSU Baseball Field. The Blue Devils won the first game, 8-4, and shut out the Spartans, 6-0, in game two. Central has won nine straight and continued its best Northeast Conference start in program history improving to 8-0 in league play.

The Central Connecticut baseball team opened the season with a 6-5 win over Butler in a neutral site game played in Baton Rouge, LA. The Blue Devils hit four home runs in the game, including three by Ramon Jimenez, and got 3.1 innings of one-hit, one-run relief from the bullpen to open the season with a victory.

Central Connecticut was tabbed as the favorite in the 2023 Northeast Conference Preseason Baseball Coaches' Poll it was announced on Friday. CCSU collected six first-place votes to top the poll conducted among the league's head coaches who were not able to vote for their own squad.
