Bio
Eric Wilder enters his first season as the Director of Player Development with the Central Connecticut men's basketball program for the 2021-22 season.
Wilder, a native of Braintree, MA attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. During that time, Wilder worked as a Basketball Operations Assistant with the Philadelphia 76ers under Hall of Fame head coach Doug Collins. With the Sixers, his responsibilities included scheduling for the coaching staff and scouting department, the creation and input for their analytical database, and draft book composition.
Prior to arriving at CCSU, Wilder spent three seasons as an Assistant Coach with the University of Massachusetts Boston men’s basketball team. Wilder was also the head of recruitment and led guard development at UMB. During his tenure at UMB, the program won 16+ games twice (matching second most successful season in program history), hosted the only two Little East Conference tournament games in program history, and posted a victory against Division 1 Holy Cross on Dec. 10, 2019. Wilder also mentored five LEC All-Rookie team student-athletes, one Rookie of the Year, and a Defensive Player of the Year (the first in program history). During the 2019-20 season the program also finished Top 5 in three national defensive categories. While in Boston, Wilder also spent five years working as an Engagement Counselor in the Boston Public Schools. Prior to UMass Boston, Wilder spent one season as an Assistant Coach at Stonehill College of the NE-10.
