Wimbish, Smith Win Events At Black & Gold Invite
Four Blue Devils place in top-three on Saturday

The Central Connecticut State track and field teams completed their two-day stay at the Black and Gold Invitational at Bryant University.
The Blue Devils are back in action on April 5th at the UMass Invitational.
- Kyle Wimbish took the spot in the high jump, clearing a personal-best 1.99m
- Tristan Smith won the shot put with his 14.90m top throw
- Brendan Mellitt took silver in the 5000m, running a personal-best of 14:44.59
- Bryan Elliott took bronze in the triple jump, with a leap of 12.85m
- Stylz Mitchell ran 10.97 to finish fourth in the 100m dash
- Mitchell was the top finisher for the Blue Devils in the 200m as well, running 22.40 to finish fourth
- Greyson Golda threw the shot 13.75m to place fourth, with Quincy Davis (13.57m) fifth and Angelo Pisacreta (13.43m) sixth with a personal-best
- Kenny Agwu placed sixth in the 110m hurdles, crossing the line at 16.16
- James Sullivan ran to a sixth-place finish in the 1500, going 4:00.83
- Joe Lauria captured seventh in the 3000m steeplechase, running 9:58.49
- Zachary Bonini threw the javelin 48.46m to earn seventh place
- Cole Robertson ran 51.94 in the 400m to place eighth
- Agwu was eighth in the 400m hurdles, running 58.95
- Chris Abbey was the eighth-place finisher in the 800m, running 1:56.76
- Ryan Scappaticci (4:09.71) and Andrew Hedges (15:27.99) both posted personal-best times in the 1500m and 5000m respectively
