Rodriguez Paces Men's Cross Country At Paul Short Run
Blue Devils placed ninth in their race
The Central Connecticut State men's cross-country team posted a ninth-place finish in the Brown Race at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday, hosted by Lehigh University. Mark Rodriguez was the Blue Devils top finisher, running to a seventh-place finish in the race, with a run of 24:34.6.

NOTABLE
- Rodriguez was 17th through the first mile and steadily moved up the field, pushing into the top-10 as the race crossed 6,000m and moved up two spots in the final 1.7K
- Mario Olivo was the Blue Devils top rookie finisher, running 26:10.6 to finish in 110th place, moving up double digits in the standings in each split
- Aidan Budge rallied over the last 1500m, moving up two spots in that time frame to capture 15th in the brown race, running 24.49.7
- Michael Kraszewski moved up four spots in the final portion of the race, capturing 66th in the race, at 25:41.4
- Andrew Hedeges rounded out the CCSU scoring, with a time of 26:31.2, surpassing 30 opponents in the final portion of the run to place 154th
RACE NOTES
- The Brown race was contested by 332 racers representing 39 teams
- NEC foes Merrimack, Stonehill, LIU, Le Moyne, FDU and Wagner were amongst the teams that ran in the race with the Blue Devils
- CCSU finished ninth in the brown race, with 338 points, second amongst NEC teams (Stonehill 309 points, 7th place)
- Overall, the Blue Devils were 55th as a team, with Rodriguez finishing 124th
- The Paul Short Run was comprised, in four flights, of 158 teams and 1,382 finishers
