Men's Cross Country Paces Field at CCSU Mini Meet

Mark Rodriguez and Aidan Budge paced the Central Connecticut men's cross country team at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday in New Britain, CT. The pair both earned top-five finishes and led Central to the top team finish.

NOTABLE
- Mark Rodriguez was the highest finishing collegiate runner, finishing third overall with a time of 14:47.28
- Aidan Budge finished fifth, but was the second-best finisher among collegiate runners, with a time of 14:54.19.
- Salvatore Masciarelli rounded out the top-10 runners in the field, finishing in 15:04.97.
- Joseph Lauria (15:25.78) and Michael Kraszewski (15:26.39) finished back-to-back. Steven Ives (15:31.86) and Mario Oliva (15:35.19) rounded out CCSU contingent of runners.
- In the subvarsity race, Calvin Young (10th, 15:53.77), Andrew Hedges (11th, 15:54.46) and Ryan McCauley (13th, 15:55.37) were the top three Blue Devils finishers.
RACE NOTES
- Will Benoit, running unattached, topped the individual standings with a time of 14:43.97, just ahead of former CCSU standout James Sullivan (14:45.69).
- Sullivan set the course record with a time of 14:30 in 2024.
- The Blue Devils topped the team standings with a score of 36 points. UMass Lowell (55) and Stony Brook (56) followed in the standings.
