Support Operation Christmas Child

The Central Connecticut Department of Athletics will be collecting donations for Operation Christmas Child at Tuesday night’s women’s basketball game and Thursday night’s men’s basketball game.

Fans will be able to make donations in the lobby of Kaiser Hall before and during the first half of the game.

Fans can use their own empty shoeboxes, plastic containers or just bring in toys that CCSU student-athletes will organize and package in boxes.

Ideas for the boxes:  crayons, coloring books, toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs), socks, hats, small toys such as bouncy balls, playing cards, toy cars, stuffed animals, etch a sketch, school supplies. No chocolate candies or toys that resemble guns or army men, please. You can enclose a note to the child you are sending it to.

This is the 11th year that CCSU student-athletes have participated in Operation Christmas Child.  Each year the Blue Devils create and collect approximately 100 boxes for the worldwide initiative.

Operation Christmas Child distributes millions of gift-filled shoeboxes to children in crisis in more than 100 countries around the world.  The box of goodies and necessities is the only gift these children will receive this holiday season and each box represents love, hope and the ability to go on each day in the direst of circumstances.

The women’s basketball team will host Massachusetts on Tuesday and the men’s basketball team will host Brown on Thursday.
