CCSU Set for 2nd NGWSD Event

The Central Connecticut Department of Athletics will take part in the second annual National Girls and Women In Sports Day on January 26th.  Coaches and student-athletes from the CCSU women's soccer, lacrosse, golf, softball and volleyball programs, as well as members of the CCSU cheer and dance squads will run free clinics for young female athletes.  Participants will also be provided with a complimentary lunch and free admission to the CCSU women's basketball game at 1 p.m.

In addition to the activities for children, parents are invited to attend a free pilates class that will be held during the clinic.

Registration will be from 10:30-11 a.m. on January 26th, with the clinics scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Last year, CCSU hosted 50 young girls for the first NGWSD.  CCSU's event was one of over 1,000 that took place across the country to celebrate the participation of girls and women in sports.
