Hunt Leads Blue Devils to Victory at Hartford

The Central Connecticut men's cross country team won its first dual meet of the season with a 21-37 defeat of the University of Hartford. Sophomore Craig Hunt captured the win to lead the Blue Devils. The meet was held at Riverfront Park in Hartford as part of the Riverfront Cross Country Festival.

Hunt's winning time of 25:31 was 25 seconds ahead of second place finisher and fellow Blue Devil sophomore John Krell. Krell, who finished in 25:56, and Hunt were the only two runners to go under 26 minutes on the day. The one-two finish got the Blue Devils off to a strong start in the team scoring.

Junior Anthony Gonsalves, Senior Robert Weston, and Junior Kevin Tiernan finished fifth, sixth and seventh locking up the team victory for the Blue Devils. Sophomore Chris Rosenberg was the sixth Blue Devil across the line finishing ninth.

The Blue Devils will return to action next week when they host the Ted Owen Invitational.
