Hunt and Hill Earn NEC Weekly Honors

The Central Connecticut men's cross country team swept this week's Northeast Conference Awards as sophomore Craig Hunt claimed Athlete of the Week and freshman Andrew Hill takes home Rookie of the Week Honors. This is the first award this season for both Hunt and Hill.

Hunt was victorious at the CCSU Mini Meet last Friday, winning the 5K in 14:55. Hunt's time bested the previous course record by 14 seconds, and his first place finish led the Blue Devils to a 72 point victory. In all the Blue Devils put seven runners in the top-ten at the Mini Meet.

Hill also competed in the 5K at the Mini Meet running a 15:53. His time put him at a 5:07 mile pace and earned him a 20th place finish, as his team earned the victory.

Hill is the first men's cross country runner to earn the Rookie of the Week Honor this season. Hunt joins senior and junior Sam Alexander in receiving the Athlete of the Week Award this season.Ry Sanderson

The Blue Devils will return to action this Saturday as they host the Northeast Conference Championships.
