Men's XC Duo Earn NEC Honors

Two members of the Central Connecticut cross country team earned Northeast Conference honors after their performances this past weekend at the CCSU Mini Meet.  Senior Craig Hunt was honored as the NEC Athlete of the Week and freshman Andy Pullaro was named NEC Rookie of the Week.

Hunt notches his second NEC Athlete of the Week honor this season after finishing the CCSU Mini Meet 5K course at Stanley Park two seconds faster than his 2010 time. The junior's time of 14:53 was an improvement on the course record he had set just a year ago. His second place finish led the Blue Devils to a first place team finish.

Pullaro ran to 14th place at the CCSU Mini Meet to earn NEC Rookie of the Week honors. This is the first time that Pullaro, who ran the 5K course in 15:50, has received the honor in his young career.

Central Connecticut returns to action at the NEC Championships this Saturday, October 29th, at Monmouth University.
