Central Connecticut junior Helene Neuhaus is set to compete in the USA Winter National Championships on Friday, November 30 at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. Friday's preliminary events are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Neuhaus qualified for USA Winter National competition in June with her performance in the 100 yard backstroke at the Connecticut Senior Open. She completed the event in 1:05.43, six-tenths of a second faster than the qualifying time of 1:05.49. This is the second consecutive year Neuhaus has qualified for USA Winter National competition. She also earned a trip in 2011 after her performance at the Eastern Zone Super Sectional Meet at the University of Pittsburgh in August.
Neuhaus will be one of two swimmers in the 100 backstroke preliminary to represent the Northeast Conference. She joins Bryant's Casey Ostrander in the event.
