Bossardet Named Scholar-Athlete, Blue Devils Place 57 on NEC Honor Roll
Bossardet posted an exceptional time of 11:00.10 at the conference meet this season. She dominated the race finishing 14 seconds ahead of the field as she set a new NEC record. Bossardet was extremely versatile as she competed in six different events as a senior, posting team-best times in the steeplechase, 3000 meters and 5,000 meters.
Off the track, Bossardet was honored with the Coca-Cola Award, presented to the female student-athlete with the highest grade point average, and the Athletic Director's Award, recognizing her commitment to Blue Devil athletics. An English major, she finished with a 3.96 grade point average.
Spring Academic Honor Roll
Including Bossardet, 57 Blue Devils were named to the 2011 NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. The Academic Honor Roll includes all student-athletes who maintain a cumulative grade point average above 3.20. With 57 student-athletes recognized this Spring, the Blue Devils have had 168 student-athletes named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll this school year.
Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll
Of the 57 Blue Devils on the Academic Honor Roll, 11 Central Connecticut student-athletes were also named to the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Spring. To be named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll student-athlete's must maintain a cumulative grade point average above 3.75. Those Blue Devils were Ash Crawford (Men's Golf), Luke Albertson (Men's Track), Andrew Hill (Men's Track), Mohamed Hrezi (Men's Track), Nicole Prizzoferrato (Women's Golf), Krisztina Dearborn (Women's Track), Nicole Frantz (Women's Track), Sara Larkin (Women's Track), Brianna Pitino (Women's Track), Kate Hoffman (Softball), and Bossardet.
