Women's Cross Country Picked Fourth in NEC Coaches Poll

The Central Connecticut State University women's cross country team was picked to finish fourth in the NEC Preseason Coaches poll on Wednesday.  Quinnipiac was chosen as the preseason favorite, receiving 11 of 12 first place votes.  Monmouth earned the other first place vote.  The Blue Devils are coming off a fifth-place finish in last year's championship.

Second year head coach Eric Blake sporta a nice blend of youth and experience. Key returnees this season for the Blue Devils include sophomore Elizabeth Eberhardt and senior Amanda Asaro. Eberhardt, who was named NEC Rookie of the Week after her sixth place finish at the CCSU 3K Mini-Meet, finished 14th (18:29) at the NEC Championships, earning her All-Conference recognition. Asaro, who finished 36th overall at the championship, performed well at the Riverfront Cross Country Festival, coming in fourth with a time of 19:26.
