Baseball Sees Season End in Loss to Campbell

The Central Connecticut baseball team saw its season come to a close in a 10-5 loss to Campbell in an elimination game on Saturday at the NCAA Columbia Regional at Founders Park. The Blue Devils held the nation’s highest-scoring team at bay for over six innings before the Camels would rally for the win.

Dominic Niman  and Luke Garofalo of the Central Connecticut baseball team were named to the All-New England Team it was announced by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) on Friday morning. In addition to being named to the First Team, Niman was named the Pitcher of the Year.

The Central Connecticut baseball team collected a pair of major awards and had six members earn All-Northeast Conference recognition it was announced by the league office on Tuesday on the eve of the conference championship. Dominic Niman became the first Blue Devil named Pitcher of the Year since 2003, while head coach Charlie Hickey was named the Northeast Conference Coach of the Year.

The Central Connecticut baseball team swept Norfolk State in a doubleheader to open a three-game Northeast Conference series on Friday at CCSU Baseball Field.
