COMPLETE 2009-10 MEN'S BASKETBALL
SCHEDULE
"We are excited about our schedule for the upcoming season," head
coach Howie Dickenman said. "We open with a fantastic night of
basketball on Nov. 13, followed by a challenging non-conference
schedule. We are looking forward to the trip to Chicago in
December to face a Big Ten opponent, and also about heading to the
Mohegan Sun Arena in January to play Holy Cross. The Arena has
always been a wonderful place to play a game, and we look forward
to returning there this season. The doubleheader will be a
tremendous opportunity for fans to see four quality basketball
teams on one night."
Following the opening game against Fairfield, the Blue Devils will
travel south on two separate occassions to continue their
non-conference slate. CCSU will play at Savannah State on Monday,
Nov. 16, before heading to the CollegeInsider.com Skip Prosser
Tournament at The Citadel for a pair of games on Nov. 28 and 29.
The opponents for that tournament are still to be announced, but
CCSU will face the Citadel in one of the games.
The Blue Devils open conference play on Thursday, Dec. 3 at St.
Francis (NY) and then play at Long Island on Dec. 5.
The non-conference schedule continues on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at New
Hampshire, followed by the home opener for the Blue Devils on Dec.
12 against Albany. A trip to Big Ten opponent Northwestern takes
play on Dec. 22 followed by a home meeting with UMBC on Dec.
30.
The calendar turns and the Blue Devils play Holy Cross at the
Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, Jan. 2, followed by the final
non-conference road game of the season at Colgate on Jan. 4. CCSU
hosts Savannah State for its final non-conference game of the
season on Jan. 11.
Conference play begins again on Thursday, Jan. 7. CCSU will face
every team in the league twice this season except for Robert
Morris, Wagner, St. Francis (PA) and Mount St. Mary's. CCSU will
only face RMU and St. Francis (PA) at home, and will only face the
Mount and Wagner on the road in 2009-10. Bryant University has
been added to the schedule for 2009-10, and the Blue Devils will
play the Bulldogs both home and away this season. Games against
Bryant will count in the league standings, but the Bulldogs will
not be eligible for post season play.
