Men's Soccer Names 2011 Captains
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team has named their 2011 captains in anticipation of tonight's season opener.
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team has named their 2011 captains in anticipation of tonight's season opener. Coach Shawn Green has named veteran Blue Devils Jesse Menzies and Ognen Stamenkovik, as well as newcomer Mamoudou Dioubate.
Menzies is the senior member of the group entering his junior season in 2011. He has been a key part of the Blue Devil squad over the previous two seasons. Stamenkovik will play as a senior in 2011 after joining the Blue Devils as a transfer last season. Dioubate enters his first year in New Britain as a junior transfer. Last season he captained Monroe College to the NJCAA Final Four.
The Blue Devils will host Vermont tonight in the season and home opener. The match will be played at Willow Brook Park and will begin at 7 p.m.
Due to the on-going field renovations at CCSU, all of the men's soccer games will be played off campus at Willow Brook Park this season.
