Women's Golf Closes Fall Schedule at Lehigh Invitational Monday
The Blue Devils were led by senior Cecy Gutierrez.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team placed sixth overall at the Lehigh University Invitational following Monday's final round. The tournament was played at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, PA.
The Blue Devils shot a team score of 324 on Monday to finish with a 642 (318-324). Lehigh won with a score of 612 (304-308), followed by Fairleigh Dickinson (613, 308-305), Monmouth (625, 316-309), Hartford (638, 318-320)and St. Francis U (638, 316-322). Holy Cross (645, 323-322) rounded out the field.
Senior Cecy Gutierrez led Central, tying for 14th overall. She shot a second round 77 to finish with a two-round score of 157. Freshman Meghan McLean tied for 18th with a score of 159 (79-80).
Freshman Olivia Gardenhour was next for CCSU, shooting 162 (85-77) to finish tied for 22nd. Senior Tara Whelan shot 164 (82-82) to finish 26th and sophomore Emma Heim shot 173 (85-88) to finish 34th overall.
The tournament concluded the fall portion of the Blue Devils' 2017-18 season.
