Women's Track Opens Season at Yale on Saturday
Blue Devils compete at Yale Invitational to begin the 2015 indoor season
The Central Connecticut women's indoor track team opened the 2015 season with a trip to the Yale Invitational on Saturday. Complete results can be found below.
YALE INVITATIONAL RESULTS
Senior Ronea Saunders placed second in the high jump with a height of 1.65 meters. She cleared the height on her first attempt but was unsuccessful at 1.70 meters in three jumps.
Sophomore Sherise Truman finished 12th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.59.
Junior Alessandra Salmon was 20th in the 400 meter dash coming in at 1:03.94.
Junior Chantelle Deer and sophomore Taylor Boncal were 14th and 15th respectively in the 500 meter run with times of 1:20.69 and 1:20.97.
Sophmore Brittany Mendelson finished ninth in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:05.67. Junior Ally Gates was 18th in the same race with a time of 3:13.16 and sophomore Jazmin Booker finished 21st with a time of 3:15.06.
Senior Elizabeth Eberhardt finished sixth in the one mile run coming in at 5:08.82.
Senior Krisztina Dearborn has a strong fourth place finish in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:19.63. Classmate Shannon McBride was 10th in the same race with a time of 10:46.45.
In the 60 meter hurdles sophomore Sarah Hicks placed 16th with a time of 9.70.
Junior Chelse Terry was ninth in the shot put with a throw of 11.60 meters. She posted three throws over 11 meters in the meet. She was also eighth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.15 meters.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Deer, Boncal, Truman and Salmon finished in 11th place with a time of 4:09.12.
The women's team will continue the indoor season on Friday, Jan. 16 at the NYC Gotham Cup at The Armory in New York, NY.
