Krause tallies first goal of season
The Central Connecticut State women's soccer team drew 1-1 with visiting UMass Lowell on Sunday afternoon on CCSU Soccer Field.
The River Hawks scored first, tallying a tap-in goal from Gaby Eckroth in the 38th minute, after Central controlled play early in the half.
CCSU earned the equalizer with a Sabrina Krause tally. She took a pass just over midfield from Gia Edwards and went down the far sideline and drove the ball into the upper 90 to tie the score.

KEY MOMENTS
- Emma Radoncic had a dangerous chance for CCSU in the opening minute, pinging a shot to the upper right corner that Taylor Burgess was able to knock aside
- Radoncic put another ball on target in the 11th minute, which was saved by Burgess
- Melina Ford made consecutive saves 18 minutes into the game, denying a chance from the wing and then from the top of the box to keep the game scoreless
- Radoncic challenged Burgess again in the 28th minute, having her blast tipped just over the crossbar
- In the 36th minute, Hillary Jaen chipped a shot from 10 meters out that Ford was able to pull down at the near post
- Rachel Wygant got into the box in the 36th minute and Burgess turned her away
- UMASS Lowell reversed the field and scored with 7:17 left in the half as Eckroth tapped home a feed from Brookshire
- The Blue Devils drew even at 74:21when Gia Edwards fed an outlet to Sabrina Krause on the far sideline and Krause put the ball into the upper 90 for the equalizer
- Laerke Niklasson put a ball into the box in the 49th minute that rolled across the front of the crease until Ford scooped it up to deny the River Hawks
- Laura Cetina sent a ball on net from the top of the 18 with 2:30 to play that Ford handled easily
- The Blue Devils withstood three River Hawk corner kicks in the final minute to earn the tie
