Central Connecticut sophomore Arielle Bruno was named NEC Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after hitting four home runs last week as her team went 6-0, including doubleheader sweeps of St. Francis (PA) and Bryant.

Bruno led the Blue Devils (31-19, 11-9 NEC) by collecting ten hits, four home runs, ten runs batted in and seven runs for the week. She hit .400 (10-for-25), posted a .444 on base percentage and slugged .880 over the six games.

Between the second game against St. Francis and the first game at Bryant, Bruno ran off an impressive streak of a home run in four straight games.

Bruno's best performance of the week came in game one against Bryant when she hit a grand slam while also singling twice and stealing a base.  She had four multi-hit games and drove in multiple runs in three games.

She also raised her season average to .312 with her performance.

The six wins helped the Blue Devils set a new school record for victories in a season with 31.  The previous record of 29 wins had been set just last year.
