Women's Golf Third in NEC Poll

The Central Connecticut women's golf team was tabbed to finish third in the Northeast Conference this spring.  NEC head coaches voted in the poll which was released on Friday morning.

Defending NEC Champion LIU Brooklyn topped the preseason poll receiving five total first-place votes.  Fairleigh Dickinson took home four first-place votes and placed second in the voting followed by the Blue Devils who had two first-place votes and were chosen to place third.  Saint Francis U and Monmouth rounded out the poll's top-five.

The sixth place spot was filled by Sacred Heart followed by Robert Morris, Quinnipiac, Wagner, Mount St. Mary's, and St. Francis Brooklyn.

Last season, Central finished seventh at the Conference Tournament writing in a team score of 971.  The Blue Devil's 971 marked their lowest team score in school history at the NEC Tournament since a third round was added to the event in 2007.  Central has won one NEC Title in 14 years as a member of the NEC (2001).
