Central Connecticut sophomore Aaron Radden has earned his first honor of the 2011 season following his two victories at the Army Carleton Crowell Open. Radden was named Northeast Conference Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. The 2010 NEC Most Outstanding Indoor Track Performer, Radden was victorious in both the 200-meter and 60-meter sprints over the weekend.
In the 200-meter event Radden ran past the field finishing in 22.06 seconds, and he defeated the second place finisher by nearly three-quarters of a second.
His 60-meter dash time was the second fastest run by an NEC athlete this year. Radden clocked in at 6.90 seconds, that time is under the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships.
As a freshman Radden won both the 200-meter and 60-meter events at last year's Northeast Conference Championships, as he earned the NEC Most Outstanding Track Performer Honors.
Radden and the Blue Devils will return to action this Saturday at the Yale Invitational.
