Men's Track Picked to Finish Fourth at NEC Indoor Championships

The Central Connecticut men's track team has been picked to finish fourth at the 2011 Northeast Conference Indoor Track Championships. The leagues coaches tabbed the Blue Devils fourth in the conference's pre-championship poll.

The Blue Devils finished fourth at the 2010 NEC Indoor Championships, behind Sacred Heart, Monmouth and Long Island. Long Island won the meet last year, but were picked second in this years poll after receiving one less first place vote than Monmouth. Sacred Heart also recieved a first place vote and finished third in the poll.

Monmouth collected five first place votes, Long Island grabbed five, and Sacred Heart one. Central selected fourth was followed by Mount St. Mary's, St. Francis (PA), Robert Morris, St. Francis (NY), Fairleigh Dickinson, Bryant, and Wagner.

Back-to-back NEC Champions in cross country, the Blue Devils will be led by their distance runners. Sophomore Aaron Radden (Sprints), junior Rashad Williams (Throws), and freshman Denzell Jones (jumps) will also help led a very balanced Blue Devil squad at this years meet.

The NEC Indoor Championships will take place on Feb. 12-13, in Prince George's County Maryland.
