CCSU Swims at Day One of Terrier Invite

The Central Connecticut State University swimming team competed in day one action at the Terrier Invitational on Friday. Freshman Taylor Friedmann placed third in the 500 freestyle, touching in with a time of 4:58.37. Two Blue Devil relays finished in 11th place in the first day of competition at Boston University.

The 200 free relay team of freshman Katie Lang, junior Alyssa Carlucci, sophomore Alex Czaplicki and Friedmann was 11th in a time of 1:40.47. Czaplicki, Lang and Friedmann were joined by sophomore Kristen Malski on the 400 medley relay team that took 11th in 4:00.59.

Senior Kandra Kane and Czaplicki joined Friedmann in the 500 freestyle. Kane placed ninth in 5:01.01, while Czaplicki took 15th in 5:06.34. Czaplicki also competed in the 50 free, recording a time of 24.58 seconds to place 20th.

CCSU has 53 points and is in seventh place. The Blue Devils will continue tomorrow with prelims beginning at 10:00 a.m. with finals starting at 6:00 p.m.
