Junior Katherine Bossardet earned all-conference honors for the second straight season, placing 12th to lead Central Connecticut State University to a sixth place finish at the Northeast Conference Women's Cross Country Championships at Quinnipiac University. Bossardet recorded a time of 19:01.0.
The Blue Devils finished with 168 points, placing just behind Mount St. Mary's, who took fifth with 163 points. Central defeated Robert Morris (176), Bryant (203), Long Island (219), Fairleigh Dickinson (281), St. Francis (NY) (296) and Wagner (308). Quinnipiac won its fifth straight championship, totaling only 33 points. Sacred Heart was second with 71, while Monmouth (98) and St. Francis (PA) (127) were third and fourth, respectively.
Senior Alyssa Cole took 22nd place as the next finisher for the Blue Devils, crossing the line in 19:31.4. Sophomore Amanda Asaro, junior Nicole Coiteux and senior Kim Savino rounded out the scorers for CCSU. Asaro finished in 20:25.6 to place 45, while Coiteux (20:52.4) and Savino (21:05.3) took 53rd and 57th in the 100 runner field, respectively.
Central will next compete at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Saturday November 14 in Boston, MA.
