Sophomore Ken Horton Named Choice Hotels NEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Central Connecticut sophomore forward Ken Horton was named the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference men's basketball player of the week, it was announced on Monday by the conference office. Horton and the Blue Devils won a pair of home games last week to move to 2-3 overall this season. They play on the road at Delaware on Wednesday and then host Mount St. Mary's at 2 p.m. on Saturday in their first NEC game of the year.

week, it was announced on Monday by the conference office. Horton
and the Blue Devils won a pair of home games last week to move to
2-3 overall this season. They play on the road at Delaware on
Wednesday and then host Mount St. Mary's at 2 p.m. on Saturday in
their first NEC game of the year.
Horton continues to impress in his second season with the Blue
Devils, putting together another spectacular week as the Blue
Devils won two straight home games. Horton posted his second
double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a
25-point win over Binghamton on Tuesday, while matching his
career-high with seven blocks in 37 minutes of action.
Horton followed that up with 20 points, on 7-9 shooting, and seven
rebounds in an 82-78 victory over Lafayette. He added four blocks
in the game and hit 5-5 from the free-throw line, including 4-4 in
the final 2:38 of regulation.
For the week, Horton was 16-27 from the field (59%) and 7-7 from
the line while averaging 20.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks
as CCSU went 2-0.
Horton became the first player in the Division I era for the Blue
Devils to start a season scoring 18 or more points in the first
five games. He has scored 20 or more points in four of the team's
five games. He currently leads the NEC in scoring (22.4 ppg) and
blocks (3.0 bpg) and is fourth in field goal percentage (58.9%) and
is eighth in rebounding (7.2 rpg).
