Men's Basketball Winning Streak Stopped on Saturday Afternoon by Robert Morris
Central Connecticut dropped a 64-44 decision on Saturday afternoon to league-leader Robert Morris and falls to 11-12 overall and 7-6 in Northeast Conference play. Sophomore guard Shemik Thompson scored a team-high 13 points and had four steals as the Blue Devils lost at home for the first time in eight games. The Colonials are now 17-8 overall and 11-1 in league action. The Blue Devils play again on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at home vs. Fairleigh Dickinson.

Central Connecticut never led in the contest and hit just 17-of-53
from the field and 1-of-10 from three. The scored just 16 first
half points, the fewest of the season, and trailed 30-16 at the
break.
The Blue Devils, the best free-throw shooting team in the
conference, hit on just 9-of-20 from the line in the loss. They
were outrebounded 38-32.
The Colonials shot 26-of-50 (52 percent) form the floor and hit
7-of-18 from three. They had 13 assists, nine blocks and eight
steals as they improved to a league-best 11-1 in NEC play.
Robert Morris was led by Jimmy Langhurst who had a game-high 18
points and Jeremy Chappell added 15 in the victory.
Thompson led the offense with 13 while sophomore David Simmons and freshman Robby Ptacek each had eight. Sophomore Ken Horton scored a season-low four points
but grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.
The Blue Devils return to action on Thursday night hosting
Fairleigh Dickinson beginning at 7 p.m. The game will be televised
live on MSG as well as Cox Sports Television and the Connecticut
