CCSU Women Open Two-Game Road Trip At Colgate On Friday Night
Blue Devils Look To Extend Winning Streak Versus Raiders To Five
The Blue Devils (0-4) look to get into the win column for the first time this season on Friday evening, as CCSU heads to Hamilton, New York for a non-conference clash with the Raiders of Colgate University (2-1). Central fell to 0-4 on the young 2024-25 season on Tuesday night with a 59-48 home loss to Bryant University. CCSU's other losses this season have come on the road versus UMass (66-60) and Minnesota (89-48) and at home against Manhattan (78-64).

The Blue Devils are undefeated in their last four meetings with Colgate and hold a 10-5 advantage in the all-time series. Last season, Central topped Colgate in New Britain, 69-54, on December 11, 2023. CCSU won the last meeting in New York State which came on November 28, 2009, 61-43. The Raiders last win in the series was a 74-40 overtime victory during the 1997-98 season.
LOOKING BACK AT TUESDAY NIGHT…
• The visiting Bryant University Bulldogs closed out the first half on a 9-0 run to lead 26-21 after 20 minutes of play, and then the Bulldogs opened the second half on another 9-0 run to extend their lead to 35-21, on their way to a 59-48 non-conference win over the host Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils on Tuesday night in Detrick Gymnasium.
• Graduate student Meghan Kenefick led the Blue Devils in scoring on Tuesday with 14 points. She was joined in double figures by red-shirt freshman Selina Monestime who netted 11 points. Freshman Jessica Farrell grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for CCSU and dished off a game-leading four assists.
• Central led after the first quarter on Tuesday night, 14-13.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION ...
• The Colgate University Raiders are members of the Patriot League and enter Friday's game with a 2-1 record after opening the season with a home win over UMass Lowell (74-62) and a road victory over CSU Bakersfield (71-42) before falling to number five UCLA in Los Angeles, 81-63, in their last outing on November 10.
• Senior Taylor Golembiewski leads the Raiders in scoring and rebounding averaging 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. She is joined in double-digit scoring by junior Anne Bair at 14.3 ppg. and classmate Sophia Diehl, who is averaging 10.7 points per game.
• Golembiewski is off to a red-hot shooting start to this season connecting on 50.0 percent of her field goals (16-of-32), including hitting 5-of-7 (71.4%) three-point shots. Bair is also knocking down 50.0 percent of her field goals; going 13-of-26 from the floor.
• Both Bair and Golembiewski are outstanding free throw shooters, as Bair is a perfect 12-of-12 from the charity stripe, and Golembiewski has missed only once so far in three game going 11-of-12 from the foul line 991.7%).
• As a team, the Raiders are averaging 69.3 points and 33.0 rebounds per outing, and they are allowing the opposition 61.7 points per game plus opponents are pulling down an average of 35.7 rebounds per game.
• Colgate is led by head coach Ganiyat Adeduntan, who is in her fourth season as the Raiders' head coach. Last season, Colgate posted a 20-14 overall record and advanced to the 2024 Women's NIT where the defeated Albany and Providence before falling to the University of Vermont in the tournament's Round of 16.

• Freshman Selina Monestime is next in scoring averaging 12.0 points per game, and she is grabbing an average of 5.3 rebounds per game.
• Both Kenefick and Monestime have reached double figures in scoring for three straight games.
• Junior Alonna Sellers leads CCSU on the glass so far in 2024-25 averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. Sellers is averaging just shy of double-digit scoring at 9.0 ppg.
• Freshman Dagny Slomack is averaging 8.5 points per game.
• Classmate Jessica Farrell's 10 rebounds on Tuesday against Bryant were a career high.
• As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 55.0 points per game and allowing the opposition to score an average of 73.0 points per game. On the boards, Central is pulling down an average of 34.0 rebounds per game; while the opposition is averaging 36.5 rebounds per contest.
