Bonilla Added To Women's Basketball Staff
Bonilla coached at SCSU last season after a playing career at Marist and Southern
Central Connecticut State head women's basketball coach Kristin Caruso announced the addition of Julianna Bonilla to the Blue Devils coaching staff. Bonilla spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach at Southern Connecticut State.
"I am excited to have Julianna joining our staff for the coming season," said Caruso. "She has a wealth of playing experience, had demonstrated a knowledge of the game and the ability to lead. She is going to be a great asset to our program."
Bonilla coached with the Owls last season, helping SCSU to a 19-11 mark and a berth in the NCAA Division II Championship. She played for coach Kate Lynch during the 2023-24 season, averaging 6.3 points and 2.7 rebounds a game, while averaging 28.7 minutes in her 29 starts.
A native of Waterford, CT, Bonilla played spent her undergraduate time at Marist University, where she played in 91 games over four seasons. She was a member of the Red Foxes 2021 MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament Team and served as a team captain for two seasons.
Bonilla graduated cum laude from Marist with a degree in Psychology and minors in Social Work and Spanish Language studies. She is currently working toward completion of her Masters of Social Work at SCSU.
