Freshman Alex Czaplicki placed second in the 200 backstroke, but the Central Connecticut swimming and diving team finished sixth out of the nine teams after the final day of competition in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University. Czaplicki, who also finished second in the 200 IM on Friday, touched in at 2:06.13 in the 200 back at Competition Pool on Sunday.
Earlier in the morning freshman Kristen Malski set a new CCSU freshman record in the 200 breaststroke, touching in at 2:27.88 in preliminary action. She placed 15th in the finals later in the day. The Blue Devils finished with 269 points over the three day meet. The host Terriers won the meet with 890.5 points, beating out second place Massachusetts (617.5) and third place Boston College (561.5) to take the crown. CCSU finished ahead of early season foe Maine (198), as well as Holy Cross (59) and Yale (47).
