Ball Signs Four For 2009-10
Central Connecticut head swimming and diving coach Bill Ball announced four National Letter of Intent signings for the 2009-10 season. Allison Rasile of Branford, CT, Hannah Packer of Manchester, CT, Katie Lang of Monroe, CT and Taylor Friedmann of Berlin, CT have committed to CCSU during the early signing period.
Rasile and Packer will make immediate impacts in the backstroke
events in all dual meet competitions as well as score major points
at the NEC and ECAC Championships.
Lang joins a long line of former State Champions on the Blue Devil
squad. She will impact all meets, both dual and championship, in a
variety of events. Lang has the ability to score in any event at
the NEC Championship and will add tremendous flexibility to the
conference line-up.
Friedmann comes to New Britain as one of the first ever Connecticut
State Open Champions to join the Blue Devils. A USA Junior National
qualifier, Friedmann, like Lang, can swim and score in many events
at the conference level and will greatly impact the championship
meets.
This group continues the tradition, started several years ago by
Ball, of keeping the best Connecticut swimmers in state at CCSU.
"This is our goal each and every year and is what is going to keep
CCSU as one of the top teams in the Northeast Conference and the
ECAC," Ball said.
Ball went on to say, "This class joins the Blue Devils as arguably
one of the best ever and with all of them being from Connecticut
makes it an even more special group."
The 2008-09 Central Connecticut swimming and diving team will
return to the pool on Sunday January 11 when they take on Holy
Cross and Vermont in Worceter, MA.
