Freshman Elizabeth Eberhardt won the 5 K race to earn her first collegiate individual victory. The meet was held at Riverfront Park in Hartford as part of the Riverfront Cross Country Festival.

    Women's Cross Country Picked Sixth in Northeast Conference Coaches Poll The Central Connecticut State University women's cross country program was picked to finish sixth in the preseason Northeast Conference Coaches Poll, it was announced on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will be under the direction of new head coach Eric Blake, who helped lead the men's team to the NEC title in 2009. The women's team finished sixth in last season's NEC Championships. Central will host the championships this season on Oct. 30 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain.
