Men's Soccer Stopped at Canisius on Monday
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team was shutout by Canisius, 3-0, on Monday in Buffalo, NY The Golden Griffins would seal the result with a pair of goals in the final five minutes of action.
The Blue Devils host UConn on Friday night in a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

KEY MOMENTS
- Canisius would score the eventual game-winner at the 17:06 mark. Luke Szablewski took advantage of a CCSU giveaway and took the ball on the right wing from inside the Griffs' offensive zone. He would put his shot past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
- The Blue Devils controlled possession to begin the second half in search of an equalizer. CCSU had three shots in the opening 13:41, but was unable to unlock the Canisius defense. Jack Petrie was forced to make a pair of saves in the second half for Canisius.
- Canisius would tack on two goals in the closing minutes to seal the result. In the 86th minute, Dylan Rice crossed a ball to Michael Switala who beat the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
- Switala would tack on his second goal of the game just 1:08 later when he got the ball in the offensive zone and he chipped a shot just under the crossbar to make it 3-0.

6 – CCSU and Canisius each had six corner kicks in the game.
NOTES
- CCSU has dropped four straight in the series which is tied 4-4 all-time.
- Central's goalkeepers made six saves in the game. Michel Pinoncely started the game and made two saves. Mick Sipples played the second half and made four saves.
- Austin Rocke and Anthony Catanzaro each had two shots to lead the Blue Devils.
