Men's Soccer Falls to Chicago St. in Six-Goal Shootout
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell to Chicago St., 4-2, in Northeast Conference action on Sunday in New Britain, CT. The teams combined for five goals in a flurry of second half scoring with the Cougars erasing a 2-1 Blue Devils lead.
The Blue Devils travel to Le Moyne next Sunday.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils got their first scoring chance on the half-hour mark when Justin Vallejo got free for a shot that was tipped away by the CSU goalkeeper.
- Chicago State would open the scoring just two minutes later playing a pair of quick passes to a long cross from Dasha Curiel to Bruno Baez in the penalty box. Baez would cut a pass back to Danail Sergiev who was rushing towards goal and kicked it in to make it 1-0.
- Central would control possession in the early-going of the second half and in the 54th minute would score the tying goal. On a quick restart, Zane Brown got the ball along the left sideline and sent a low cross across the field to Trevor Rau who tapped it in to make it 1-1.
- The Blue Devils took the lead in the 63rd minute. After gaining possession in the CCSU half, Ethan Agyare-Danso would lay off a pass in the area for Joey Tata who ran onto the ball and kicked home for a 2-1 lead.
- The Cougars would tie the game less than three minutes later to start a string of three unanswered goals. Sergiev scored his second of the game off a pass from Shaquan Reid along the endline to make it 2-2.
- CSU took the lead with under four minutes to play when Sergiev laid off a pass to Curiel who beat the defense and scored in a one-v-one with the keeper. The Cougars added a goal two minutes later when Hilary Odhiambo fed Luka Assaf a pass from close range who converted to make it 4-2.
