Stefanski Earns ECAC Softball Player of the Week
Freshman Macy Stefanski has been named ECAC Division I Softball Player of the Week as well as Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the week for her performance at this weekend's Lady Pirates Classic in Hampton, VA. Stefanski is the first player to hold both honors at the same time this season in the Northeast Conference and is the first player in CCSU softball history to have received Northeast Conference Player or Rookie of the Week honors.

Stefanski has been named ECAC Division I Softball Player of the

for her performance at this weekend's Lady Pirates Classic in
Hampton, VA. Stefanski is the first player to hold both honors at
the same time this season in the Northeast Conference and is the
first player in CCSU softball history to have received Northeast
Conference Player or Rookie of the Week honors.
The Montville, CT native led the Blue Devils this weekend to finish
with a 3-1 record at the Lady Pirates Classic in Hampton, VA.
Stefanski had her first collegiate homerun for CCSU while adding
two doubles for 11 total bases on six hits. The infielder finished
the week with a slugging percentage of 1.100, a .600 batting
average and a .600 on-base percentage. She is currently the Blue
Devil team leader in batting average (.400) and slugging percentage
(.650).
Central Connecticut Head Softball Coach Jeff
Franquet said, "I am extremely proud of Macy. She is one of the
hardest workers on the team. Macy's hard work to improve her swing
this fall is paying off. I couldn't think of a better player to
garner the two awards."
Stefanski and the Blue Devils next play Tuesday March 16, when they
host the University of Rhode Island for a double header beginning
at 2:30.
