Softball Drops Doubleheader at Seton Hall
Central Connecticut Softball falls to 7-10 on the season after they dropped a doubleheader on the road today at Seton Hall. The Pirates improved to 5-11 on the season. Central lost game one by a score of 3-2 despite senior Sarah Budrick 2-2 effort from the plate including a double to right center. The Pirates offense was far and wide in game two winning by a score of 15-0.

Central Connecticut struck first in game one when Budrick reached base on a hit up the middle and later scored on a single to left center by senior Tiffany Erickson. The Blue Devils scored again in the top of the third inning on senior Jaclyn Logan's sacrifice fly which scored sophomore Rebecca Mussatti who drew a walk to led the inning off.
Junior Elizabeth Montemurro held strong against the Seton Hall offence in the loss allowing three runs on eight hits. Montemurro also had three strike outs and three walks for the Blue Devils.
The Pirates were led by junior Michelle Reed who was 2-3 from the plate and scored two runs for Seton Hall. Seton Hall had three runs on eight hits and two errors while Central Connecticut finished with two runs on five hits and no errors.
Central Connecticut could not keep pace with Seton Hall in game two after the Pirates took a quick 10 run lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Pirates kept up the offence in the bottom of the third inning scoring five runs giving Seton Hall 15 runs on 13 hits and no errors while Central had no runs on four hits and three errors in the loss.
The Blue Devils return to action Wednesday March 24, when they wrap up their road trip in Chestnut Hill, MA where they take on Boston College at 3:30 pm. The Blue Devils return home for a doubleheader against Fairfield Thursday March 25 at 2:30 pm.
