Cieslik Finishes 14th In 50 Freestyle on Day Two of US Paralympic Swimming Nationals
Freshman shaved nearly two seconds off of her seed time on the day
Central Connecticut State freshman Amelia Cieslik, finished 14th in the 50m freestyle on the second day of the U.S. Paralympic Swimming National Championships on Friday.
A Southington, CT native, Cieslik closed well in the B final of the 50 free, moving into sixth place in the final 10m of the race and finished sixth in the heat with a swim of 38.19. She was 0.73 seconds faster than her preliminary swim of 38.92, which was 1.23 seconds faster then her entry time.
Cieslik also swam the 100-backstroke on Saturday, finishing 20th in preliminary heats, with a time of 1:48.81
Cieslik wraps up her debut at the US Para Swimming Nationals on Sunday, swimming the 100m freestyle and the 200m IM. The championship is being held at the Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center in Orlando, FL.
