Central Connecticut freshman Greg Beloin collected Northeast Conference Golfer of the Week honors following a tie for fifth in his collegiate debut at the Cornell Invitational. Beloin shot 71 in the only round on the par 72 Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca, NY. Due to inclement weather only 18 holes of the 54-hole event were played.
The freshman's round on Saturday, Sept. 27 proved to be good enough for a fifth-place tie overall individually. It also helped guide the Blue Devils to a tie for fifth in the 15-team field. Beloin had a tournament-best two eagles, leading to a tournament-low four under par on the par fives.
CCSU will be back in action this weekend, participating in the Macdonald Cup hosted by Yale. Play on the Yale Golf Course begins Saturday, Sept. 4.
