Central Connecticut concluded play at the Macdonald Cup with a 10th place finish. The Blue Devils posted a final round 315 after shooting 300 in both of yesterday's rounds. Sophomore Tom Ursa was the top finisher for CCSU. After carding rounds of 72 and 71 on the par 70 Yale Golf Course yesterday, he shot 79 in final round action. Fellow sophomore Eric Hawerchuk also finished in the top-20 for the Blue Devils. He also shot a third round 79. Oklahoma won the team title by eight strokes over host Yale. The Sooners shot 860 (283-288-289). Bryant junior Jason Thresher earned medalist honors.
Freshman Tucker Dooley shot a final round 80 for the Blue Devils. He had posted a pair of 78s in yesterday's action. Hawerchuk shot 74-70 yesterday. Senior Tim Buczak (80-81-77) and freshman Greg Beloin (76-81-81) both came in at 238 for CCSU.
Thresher shot 71-68-69 to win the individual title by two strokes.
Central Connecticut will compete at the ECAC Championship on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10-11. Long Island National Golf Club will host the event.
