The Central Connecticut golf team placed fourth at the Macdonald Cup at Yale University. Junior Kevin Josephson won the event by shooting a 69 in the second round today,his second individual title of the fall season. He also won the CCSU Invitational earlier this season. The Blue Devils posted a team score of 584 for the tournament.
After posting a 67 in the first round, Josephson shot a 69 today to finish at four under for the event. Josephson was the only golfer to shoot under par in both rounds of the tournament. Freshman Daniel Morgan posted the second lowest score for the Blue Devils shooting a 144 and tying for 12th place.
Senior Justin Hughes and Junior Greg Beloin both earned a share of 27th place after posting tournament scores of 149. Sophomore Dan Fanion was the fifth Blue Devil in the competition, he shot a 150 for the tournament and finished tied for 34th place.
The Blue Devils finished behind St. John's, Yale and Binghamton. Central finished three strokes ahead of NEC rival Sacred Heart and 31 strokes ahead of Bryant.
The Blue Devils will return to action next Monday at the University of Connecticut Tournament.
