The Central Connecticut women's cross country team was honored for their academic achievements as an NCAA All-Academic Team for the second straight year, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday.
Sophomore Katherine Bossardet placed 119th out of 247 runners and the Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished 29th out of 34 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday. Bossardet crossed the finish line in a time of 24:02 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY.
Sophomore Katherine Bossardet earned All-NEC Honors for her 14th place finish at Saturday's Northeast Conference Championships, held at Monmouth University. Bossardet's time of 19 minutes and 32 seconds over the five kilometer course helped the Central Connecticut women's cross country team to a fifth place finish out of 12 teams in competition.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team placed fifth out of 14 teams as hosts of the Sixth Annual CCSU Mini Meet. Senior Megan Jaswell and sophomore Katherine Bossardet finished 13th and 14th, respectively, to lead the Blue Devils. Jaswell recorded a time of 11 minutes and 35 seconds on the two mile course, while Bossardet finished two seconds behind in 11:37.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished 31st out of 45 teams in the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, MA on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Katherine Bossardet was the top finisher for the Blue Devils, placing 129th in a time of 19 minutes and 46 seconds on the five kilometer course.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished third out of six teams at the Bryant Invitational on Saturday morning. Katherine Bossardet was the top finisher for the Blue Devils, taking eighth place overall. The sophomore ran the five kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes and 29 seconds.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished sixth overall at the Monmouth Invitational on Friday afternoon. Senior Megan Jaswell finished 30th overall and was the top runner for the Blue Devils with a time of 20:25 on the five kilometer course.
Sophomore Katherine Bossardet finished 11th and the CCSU women's cross country team came in eighth out of 14 teams at the Trinity College Invitational on Saturday. In their dual matchup with Hartford, the Blue Devils won 27-28.
The CCSU women's cross country team will be heading to the Trinity Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Devil Invitational was rescheduled for Friday September 5 and instead of rearranging their racing schedule, the women will compete on Saturday September 6 at Tinity College. The four kilometer race will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Central Connecticut women's cross country and track and field head coach Brenda Webb announced the addition of Tessa Donoghue to her coaching staff for the 2008-09 season. Donoghue comes to CCSU following a two-year stint at Connecticut College.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team was picked to finish sixth in the preseason Northeast Conference preseason coaches' poll, released this afternoon. The Blue Devils finished sixth at last season's NEC Championships.
