CCSU Finishes 3rd at Bryant Invitational

The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished third out of six teams at the Bryant Invitational on Saturday morning. Katherine Bossardet was the top finisher for the Blue Devils, taking eighth place overall. The sophomore ran the five kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes and 29 seconds.

Other top finishers for CCSU were Alyssa Cole who placed 10th in a time of 20:32, Nicole Coiteux and Colleen Roarty finishing back to back in 16th and 17th (21:08 and 21:14), and Megan Jaswell who rounded out the Blue Devils' top five with a 21st place finish in a time of 21:40.

Brown University won the team race, almost pulling off a clean sweep, placing five runners in the top six. The Bears finished with 16 total points, while second place Rhode Island totaled 50, and Central took third with 65.

The overall individual winner was Brown sophomore Samantha Adelberg, who finished in a time of 19 minutes and 43 seconds.

The Blue Devils will next be competing in the New England Championships on Saturday October 11 at Franklin Park in Boston, MA.
