Sophomore Katherine Bossardet finished 11th and the CCSU women's cross country team came in eighth out of 14 teams at the Trinity College Invitational on Saturday. In their dual matchup with Hartford, the Blue Devils won 27-28.
Freshman Colleen Roarty was the second finisher for Central Connecticut, coming in 33rd overall. Out of the 175 runners in the four kilometer race, CCSU had all of their top five runners within the first 60 to finish. Junior Alyssa Cole, freshman Amanda Asaro and sophomore Nicole Coiteux finished in 42nd, 53rd and 60th, respectively.
With 184 total points, the Blue Devils finished well ahead of the host team, ninth place Trinity College (268) and immediately following seventh place University of Hartford (170) in combined results. In the head to head matchup between Central Connecticut and Hartford, the Blue Devils defeated the Hawks 27-28.
Top returning Blue Devil runner, senior Megan Jaswell, was unable to compete in the race due to illness.
CCSU will next compete in the Monmouth Invitational on Friday September 19 at 4:15 p.m.
