Sophomore Katherine Bossardet placed 119th out of 247 runners and the Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished 29th out of 34 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday. Bossardet crossed the finish line in a time of 24:02 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY.
The Blue Devils finished with a total of 857 points, 15 points behind Rhode Island and 32 points ahead of Colgate. Other top runners for CCSU were junior Alyssa Cole, senior Megan Jaswell, sophomore Nicole Coiteux and freshman Colleen Roarty. Cole finished in 146th place with a time of 24:22, while Jaswell placed 188th, timinng in at 25:06. Coiteux was two seconds behind Jawell and finished 193rd, while Roarty placed 211th, crossing the line in 25:45.
Providence won the team race, placing three runners in the top six overall. The Friars finished with 36 total points, beating out Syracuse and Boston College with point totals of 90 and 95, respectively. Providence senior Danette Doetzel took home the individual championship, crossing the line in 20:56.
